Meet Allan: IT Lead for Monaco’s Gaming Sector
Published 2 March 2026
Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Hello, I’m Allan. For the last four years, I’ve been working as an IT Lead in Facility Management within the gaming sector.
What is your educational background?
I’ve always had a deep interest in English-speaking culture, which is why I attended the International School of Valbonne. I became fully bilingual and graduated with an International Scientific Baccalaureate.
From there, I earned a foundation degree in Telecommunications and Networks. Entering the technical world inspired me to broaden my expertise, so I went on to complete a Bachelor’s in Production Management and a Master’s in Industrial Development Engineering.
What did you do before joining Infotel?
While studying, I worked for an American firm where I worked my way up to become an ERP and CRM consultant. That role took me across the United States and Mexico, which really broadened my professional outlook.
I later founded my own IT consultancy before trying my hand at entrepreneurship with a mobile retail business. After that, I joined a digital services firm as Head of IT Support. There, I was responsible for implementing service desk procedures and standardising deployment processes.
Over time, I specialised in CRM, leading dozens of deployments while managing the R&D team. Those varied roles as a consultant, project manager, and trainer have given me a real-world understanding of the challenges different stakeholders face.
What drew you to the digital sector?
I grew up with computers. My father imported PCs and Macs in the 1980s, so I was immersed in tech from day one. By the age of four, I was playing on an Apple IIe and later an IBM with driving simulators. Discovering the internet in the early 90s through CompuServe and AOL was a total revelation.
I considered neurosurgery for a while, but I eventually settled on IT during my time at school. The logic of data processing and the connectivity of networks really appealed to me.
Can you share a challenge you have overcome?
My career path has often put me in complex situations that required quick thinking. For instance, I once had to manage the cancellation of a contract with a software vendor. I managed to negotiate an agreement that satisfied everyone involved and supported the teams through the transition plan.
That experience taught me a lot about crisis management and how to better structure partnerships for future projects.
What are your goals for the future?
I would love to use my bilingual skills more often in a professional environment. While I don’t use it every day at work, my wife is American and we travel to the States regularly, so I stay very connected to the culture.
Career-wise, I am looking to move into team and project management roles focused on emerging tech, particularly robotics and Artificial Intelligence. I’m genuinely excited about how AI and robotics can transform industries and make daily life easier.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
My free time is dedicated to cooking and aeromodelling. I find cooking at home to be a fantastic creative outlet.
When I head outdoors, I switch to competitive slope soaring (F3F). This is a hobby I began at six years old and it eventually led me to a French championship title and a place on the national team. I’m now teaching my son the ropes. It’s a thrilling sport where gliders reach speeds of over 100 km/h, so it requires a high level of precision.
Any final words for our readers and future colleagues?
