Our Climate Roadmap: Aligning with the National Low-Carbon Strategy

The French National Low-Carbon Strategy (SNBC 3) sets out the roadmap for France to reach carbon neutrality by 2050, with a target to halve greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 compared to 1990 levels.

For Geoffroy Noirfontaine, Head of Quality and Environment at Infotel Group, this national strategy highlights the need for companies to build credible, measurable decarbonisation plans that match national targets.

“The SNBC goals are an extension of the Paris Agreement, which aims to limit global warming to 1.5°C by involving every sector of the economy in a sustained reduction of emissions.”

An ambitious decarbonisation plan

Infotel’s commitment is reflected in a clear, phased trajectory for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

“Starting with a carbon footprint of approximately 4,815 tCO₂e in 2023, we have set targets to reduce our emissions by 23% by 2030, 38% by 2035, and 50% by 2050.”

This plan is fully aligned with both French and European climate commitments to halve emissions this decade and achieve net-zero by 2050.

Addressing our environmental impact

For a digital services provider, the majority of emissions fall under Scope 3. This includes purchased goods and services, IT equipment, business travel, and other activities across the value chain.

Geoffroy Noirfontaine explains that the bulk of the Group’s efforts are focused here:

“Our primary areas for reduction are travel, the procurement of goods—particularly IT hardware—and service purchases. Our short-term goal is to cut approximately 1,000 tonnes of CO₂e over the next five years.”

In practice, this means reducing non-essential travel, adopting more responsible purchasing policies, extending the lifep of our hardware, and applying stricter environmental criteria when choosing our partners.
