Infotel partners with LibertéWatts to develop energy-saving mobile app

Energy efficiency is now a major priority for the national grid. However, many households still find it difficult to know when or how to take action.

To bridge this gap, French startup LibertéWatts has designed a mobile app that makes electricity consumption easy to track and understand. To turn this technical challenge into a user-friendly experience, LibertéWatts turned to the expertise of Infotel.

Raising awareness through intuitive design

LibertéWatts is committed to the energy transition, aiming to make electricity use more transparent for everyone.

Given the pressure of peak demand on the grid, the startup wanted to turn these constraints into a simple way for people to get involved.

By partnering with Infotel, LibertéWatts has created an engaging, intuitive app. It allows users to track their usage and see exactly when the grid is under strain.

The app sends alerts during peak times, encouraging people to lower their usage when it matters most—turning a grid reliability issue into a rewarding personal goal.

Infotel supported LibertéWatts through a pro bono tech initiative, providing a team of ten specialists across mobile development, AI, and UX design.

The aim was to build a tool that was reliable and high-performing, yet simple enough for anyone to use.

This blend of technical skill and user-centric thinking has resulted in a platform that is both valuable and easy to adopt.

Developed using Flutter for a seamless experience on any device, the app features:

• AI-powered interactive maps: Users can see energy demand across different regions.

• Energy Challenges: At critical times for the French grid, users are prompted to save energy.

• Rewards: Meeting targets earns virtual points, which can be swapped for partner offers or financial incentives.

Driving real results

The app now has 10,000 daily and 25,000 monthlyactive users. These figures show a clear appetite for practical energy solutions that help balance the grid and lower consumption during peak windows.
